It, in turn, is divided into several types and varieties. The plant grows in tropical Africa, Europe, America and Asia. Only decorative hybrids are planted in the garden.

Popular varieties of windowsill
Today, the window sill is rarely used in landscape design. Annual shrubs are less common than perennial. The distribution area is quite extensive: marshlands, tropics, wet meadows and moist forests. Evpatorium is unpretentious in leaving. Its dense spreading thickets are of interest to insects.
Thanks to its high decorativeness, window sill is becoming more and more popular. Gardeners plant varieties.

Window Care
Growing Evpatorium does not require much effort. The gardener must create conditions that are as comfortable as possible for plants growing on the site.
Factors | Conditions |
Lighting | He loves light, but it is strictly forbidden to expose to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. The selected location must be open. If the plant is planted in the shade, the flowering period will be significantly reduced, and the corollas will be less lush. |
Disembarkation | Usually it is carried out in early March. At a later date, the plant may not take root. When transplanting a large bush, they dig a hole. The distance between the holes should be at least 1 m. Before planting the plant, a mixture of bone meal, ash and humus is poured into it. The roots of the window sill without fail are freed from the old soil. After the cuttings are fixed, ram the ground and water the transplanted plant. |
The soil | Must be loose and fertilized. An important condition is neutral acidity. Do not plant in sandy soil and loam. To prevent soil compaction, it is regularly loosened. |
Humidity | Needs a lot of fluid. Landing near ponds is one of the best options. Watering should be frequent and plentiful. |
Top dressing | It is required for more magnificent flowering and active growth of the bud. To achieve maximum effect, it is recommended to use mineral complexes. Throughout the season, fertilizer is applied 2-3 times. The frequency depends on the condition of the soil. |
Another important step is cropping. It contributes to the formation of the crown. Timely removal of withered corollas - prevention of self-seeding. Plants belonging to high varieties need garter. If this method is contrary to design, the Evpatorium is planted near the fence. The shoots of the windowsill are removed when preparing the plant for wintering.
Breeding
There are several ways to get new plants. Among them:
- division of an adult bush;
- cutting off shoots;
- rooting cuttings.
The first method is considered the simplest. Dividing can be done in autumn or spring (once every 5 years):
- Only long shoots are pruned. The minimum length of the remaining part is 20 cm. The seedlings should have at least three growth points.
- The place where the damage to the functional layers occurred must be treated with a special solution.
- The bushes are planted in wells prepared in advance.
When choosing the second method, take into account the height of the shoots, the number of recovery buds and the time of year. Cutting is carried out only in the spring:
- Before you start, you need to prepare containers for seedlings.
- Each shoot, separated from the bush, must be shaded.
- Watering should be moderate.
- Rooting of the kidney occurs in a month.
- After this, the window sill can be transplanted into the garden.
Cuttings - a method of vegetative propagation. The green parts are cut at the end of the first summer month. Among the necessary conditions:
- the length of the alleged cuttings is from 10 to 15 cm;
- the presence of three points of growth.
To achieve rooting, cuttings are placed in a mixture of peat and sand. Top they are covered with plastic wrap. This stage lasts 30 days.
Poskonnik in the landscape
Purple and spotted atropurpureum are most in demand. Thanks to their color, they create a unique garden landscape. Flowering occurs in the second half of summer and early autumn. Sapling is most often planted in the background. It harmonizes well with other garden plants.
Combining tall perennials, they create complex flower beds near water bodies, near courtyards and in the garden. In addition to miscanthus, clumps of reed, and lightning are included in the composition. In autumn, the plants become golden and complemented by bright shades of the window sill, muzzle and umbilicus.
Diseases and pests
Poskonnik belong to poisonous plants. Therefore, the likelihood of pest damage is almost completely absent. In order to avoid infection with a miner, it is necessary to carry out processing in a timely manner, cut off damaged shoots and leaves. Flore Pleno, Purple Bush, Phantom are less likely to be exposed to pests than other types of buds.
The benefits and harms of the windowsill
Aesthetics, the absence of difficulties with planting and care in the open ground are not the only advantages of the Evpatorium. Representatives of this genus also differ in many useful properties.
For example, purpurea purple is often used in folk medicine and homeopathy. This is due to the presence of anesthetic, expectorant, choleretic, bactericidal and anthelmintic effect.
Despite the wide spectrum of action, the window sill should be used with extreme caution, strictly observing the recommended dosage. Before starting therapy, you should consult your doctor. He will inform the patient about the medicinal properties and available contraindications. The latter include pregnancy, lactation, childhood, liver and kidney pathologies.
